The Morris & District Centennial Museum has been a gathering place for our community since its founding - a home for the stories, artifacts, and memories that connect Morris and area to the land and to each other.
From early settler life to the growth of the Red River Valley, our exhibits celebrate the resilience and spirit of the people who built this region.
You are invited to come in, explore, and see yourself in our shared history.

2026 Events
August 27, 2026 - The Morris & District Museum commemorated the 100 year anniversary of the Winnipeg to New Orleans Cavalcade that motored through Morris in January 1926 to prove that the Pine-to-Palm route could be travelled successfully in the winter!
Lou Erickson, board member, shared stories of the expedition, including that a blizzard caught the group of 32 vehicles in Emerson and they had to use true horse power - pulling at least one vehicle out using a horse.
Thank you to Linda Sommers, Alan Dickson, and Ted Swift for providing music, Denis Robert of Aubigny for bringing his 1930 Model A, Derek Thielle for speaking on behalf of the Jefferson Highway Association, and the various community members that continually show support.
The culmination of this historical event are the five windows at 117 Main Street, the former J.H. Garage, just south of the former Bank of Montreal building, that now share the story of the Jefferson Highway, the importance of the garage along this route, and how Morris was and continues to be an important part of history! We acknowledge Pat Schmitke of Morris Bigway, Albright Ventures, and Pro Lagos of Malaka Motors contributions to these beautiful windows.
